The Devil Went Down to Georgia
IS
A battle of the ages between hell and heaven
Inspired by the hit Charlie Daniels song
The devil is in Georgia, taking the souls of the wicked. Jeremiah, a troubled teenage boy, convinced his parents do not love him. He finds acceptance with two older boys; they are committing crimes. During a botched robbery, Jeremiah accidentally shoots a man. Jeremiah’s soul, now at risk. An angel must protect him, until his true savior is discovered.
Jeremiah was born after the death of a sister he never knew, Deborah. Deborah, an infant, dies in her mother Caroline’s care. Caroline was bathing Deborah in the kitchen sink. Caroline turns away for a moment. Deborah falls out of the sink, hitting her head on the floor. Caroline’s blood curdling screams alert her husband Victor.
Caroline and Victor attempt to save their marriage after the tragedy. Enter their son, Jeremiah. Caroline and Victor hoped his existence would help heal their broken hearts. The years passed, Victor found himself increasingly unable to forgive Caroline and thus distanced himself from her and Jeremiah.
Deborah grew up in heaven and appears as Jeremiah’s guardian angel just as the devil is about to take Jeremiah’s soul. Thus begins a thrilling chase sequence. The devil is hot on Deborah and Jeremiah’s heels, determined to take Jeremiah’s soul. Caroline and Victor set out to find Jeremiah and do so, just in time. The devil is wearing Deborah down, eventually incinerating her. Victor steps between the devil and Jeremiah, sacrificing his life and becoming Jeremiah’s true savior.
Caroline embraces Jeremiah, when suddenly a baby is heard. It is baby Deborah, who through God’s good grace allows Caroline to witness Baby Deborah maturing from the infant she was, to the beautiful angel she is throughout the story. Caroline witnesses Deborah’s continued maturity to an elderly woman. The images of Deborah’s lifelong maturity magically transform into beautiful new angel wings. Deborah hovers over a rejoiceful Caroline and Jeremiah. Deborah reaches down and takes the hand of Victor’s soul as it emerges from its body. Deborah and Victor fly into the night sky, towards the pearly gates in the distance.
This thriller possesses time honored themes of faith, love, justice, and redemption. Using the devil as the quintessential anti-hero. Deborah’s glorious resurrection and her guiding Victor’s soul to heaven will be the finale to a pulse-pounding adventure. Audiences will leave theaters filled with joy, likely to return to witness it all over again.
